Street Games based in London was launched in 2007 by Jane Ashworth (OBE) to help change lives and communities for the better. Inspired by the FA’s (Football Foundations) work in deprived areas, Street Games now develops doorstep sport in disadvantaged communities as well as making sports widely available to all walks of life; including women, minority ethnics and disabled people. Amir Khan, Britain’s youngest ever Olympic boxing medalist, became an Ambassador for this charity in 2012. StreetGames have won many awards for their efforts in helping young people in sports. To achieve this all, they have involved close to 200,000 young people, with the help of close to 15,00 staff/volunteers.
