The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust was set up by British Champion Athlete, Dame Kelly Holmes on the eve of the Beijing 2008 Olympics with the vision to get young lives on track using the unique skills of world class athletes to engage, enable and empower. They are the only charity in the UK that support athletes as they transition from sport, and use their unique skills to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people through their mentoring programmes. Since being founded they have had an impact on over 70,000 young people across the whole country, getting 70% of young people going through their flagship programme ‘Get On Track’ into employment, education or training by the end of the course. Sport England have invested £6.9 million into the program and may invest more in the future.
